Default Using Google for Delivery Drops

    Hello

We are looking at extending one of our desktop V12 applications to enable the customer to plan his deliveries.

I believe Google have an API for this type of work.

Has anyone used this to take details from Alpha to help operators plan for the optimum routes for their deliveries?

Thanks you for your help. It is much appreciated.

    Kind regards

personally, I like to create a list & display the days stops on a map. This allows me to see where I should go, the detail view of the map marker displays a map link which opens google maps via the URL.

    Alex,

I have a customer that used https://www.speedyroute.com in 2015, which is currently free for routes with up to 20 locations. I can't remember how, but I created an extract from an AA table with postcode data and imported it into Speedy Route to build a route map. No sign of an API on their website.

p.s. It can be dangerous using Google APIs for anything important as they often change/drop/charge for their offerings with little or no notice.

By coincidence I stumbled across Speedyroute at the weekend.

I've asked them to confirm whether we can import a csv.

    Thanks for your input.

    I use what3words regularly.
Not sure if there is a cost when linked with w3w and sr.

Have used Google mapping/route feature on one client system. Really hesitant with google due to them being a bit flaky. Here today and gone tomorrow on features and free then
    Cost basis.

    Do you mean W3W, Dave?
W3W with GMaps is pants as GMaps are about 100 yards off the grid.
W3W with Navmii is to the square meter.
