    Default PDF Creation Inconsistencies

    Hello

Why on one PC would a PDF generates a file of around 1mb but on the same network a totally different PC generates a 23mb PDF.
In doing so this creates a big problem as at 23meg it is too large to email.

Both are running the same build of Alpha 12 (6012) and using the same data and same version of the desktop application.

My immediate thoughts are that it is something to do with the respective PCs; but where would I start.

    Any input wil be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Alex

Have you looked at the actual content of both?
You could Drop Box the big one and pick it up.
    Might give you a hint.

The content of the files is the same as I used the same data on 2 seperate PCs both running Alpha 12 build 6012. The only difference that might count is that one PC also had Alpha 10 installed as well as Alpha 12.

I meant that you could view the output, not the source to see what is goin on.
I suppose it is possible that the PDF generator is using the incorrect driver if V10 is on board.
You may need to uninstall and clear the Registry - beware and back it up first! - of V10 stuff iF you suspect that is the issue and the only common denominator.

    Edit
This sounds like a problem another person had when trying to use Rich Text.
The output used incorrect fonts and therefore each page had only a few huge characters. This threw multiple pages of crapola.
    Look at the output.

This may be a long shot, but worth a look...

Are the default pdf settings the same on both machines?

The only way I've ever found to set the default machine settings is to open any report in preview mode, click on file - save as. From there you can set the default pdf save options and save the settings as the default. If your pdf's contain images, this likely could solve your issue. These settings are machine specific.

    See screen shots below...
