Is it possible to display images referenced by "image File Reference" fields in an array?

I have gone through the online documetation but nothing jumps to mind.

I am reading data into arrays for processing, some fields are "Image_file_reference" fields, wondered if was possible to display these bitmaps as well in the array display?
