Hi All,
I am thinking of a desktop application I want to try to do,but not being good at this I wonder if it is even worth thinking of. I do need to know if it is possible for an experienced developer to do.
The application Desktop only
The need is to have application go to National Weather service or open weather map and parse the local weather page for weather data (Current Conditions, (forecast for ) tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night)
Associate words to recorded voice files (example: tomorrow a chance of rain showers and assign a specific filename) the website has the text tomorrow a chance of rain showers and use say rain showers as a keyword with tomorrow and relate that to the voice file with specific filename. Repeat for each remaining forecast today, tonight, tomorrow night.
Have each forecast use the specific individual filenames to create a wave audio file (today (today-*.wav), tonight (tonight-8.wav), tomorrow (tomorrow-*.wav), tomorrow night (tomorrownight-*.wav)) then take and combine those individual audio files into a single audio file say called forecast.wav.
It's really beyond me, but I am curious if it could be done with alpha anywhere. I realize this is a bit vague and it would take a lot more detail as this is just a fly basic view without drilling down to more specific file naming which is required for all the possible audio files for forecasts. It works out to be about 3,500 individual voice files to cover all possibilities of forecasts for anywhere in the world.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
