    Default Form Print

    When I try and print a Form (not a Report - what you see on the screen), I get incorrect output in the Preview.
    The Form has calculated fields in it and some show as the Xbasic code and not the results of the calculation.
    The page size is also different, so 2 questions;

    1) how to stop xbasic display
    2) how to set page size in Preview to the size of the Form.

    I could create a separate Report, but the Firm has all I want in it so is counter productive and changes would need to be in both places - Form and Report.

    Any ideas!

    You can import your form into the report editor (free form report). Just be sure to copy the calculations & variables defined in the form to the report.

    Thanks Robin, however the problem would persist as I would have to reimport the form if I made any changes.
    So is there an issue with printing a Form?

    Ted,

    What you're seeing is not surprising to me. From the earliest days of Alpha Five the form print feature has been problematic when folks expect it to print the exact data visible on screen. If memory serves Alpha intended the form print to be used primarily to capture the appearance and layout, not as an alternative equivalent to a report. i.e. a tool useful when designing the form, but not necessarily for printing the computed results visible on screen. -- tom

    Hi Tom, glad to hear from you!
    Yep, as I expected I suppose.
    Nowadays I can use the Snipping tool to send the Form image.
    Anyway, I am glad it's not just me.
