Through another posting on this board, my interst was piqued in a software website and last night I was "playing" with some interesting demo software that may be of interest to those of you who use "typeset" printing in A4 versions 6,7, and 8.
One of the advantages of A4v8 is that now you can convert forms and reports into PDFs or even fax them. However as far as I know, this is currently not available for "typeset" forms and reports.
In our business, we use typeset printing quite extensively. Though it produces quite good looking reports, which we produce on HP Laserjets, one of the major problems we have is that we cannot "automatically" reproduce these typeset reports electronically for our clients to view. Thus we often 'export' reports to a file and open and recreate them in Excel. This can be quite a tedious process for multi-grouped reports etc.
Last night I downloaded a trial demo version of software from "pcltools.com" which converted my HP Laserjet typeset reports (printed to a file) into an exact copy TIFF file. I was then able to convert them to PDFs using some other software I have. PCLTools documentation claims to be able to convert these HP-reports directly to PDF, but I wasn't able to do that (so far) and I think it may have to do with the trial software.
However, it appears that for about US$100 I will be able to electronically provide my typeset reports to my customers fairly easily... a major plus for my business! If anyone is interested, here is the link to the demo download.

Good luck!

P.S. Note to Selwyn and Richard ... the add-in for A4v9?
