I upgraded to A4V7 so that I could print to an Okidata 395c on a print server on our WinNT network rather than having the printer physically hooked up to a computer. I defined the printer as a windows printer after using HP's JetAdmin software to install the printer under Win98se.
When printing labels to the printer it only prints as many labels long and wide as it thinks is one page. If I set the page size in the Windows printer dialogue to 8.5x11 then it prints 11 rows of 1" labels and only prints 8.5" wide. If I set it to the max length of 42" then that is how many rows of labels it will print.
I have the latest versions of the printer files for A4V7. There is no place in the mail label setup to define "page breaks" as there is in the reports setup so I can't tell it to continue printing after one page.
In the printer dialogue of Win98se I can define the paper as fanfold but that makes no difference. In the label setup I have chosen "continuous feed".
I set up the printer again as a Dos printer but then I can't find a way to print to it on the network (unless I am missing something). Right now it is set to print to LPT3 (HP standard TCP/IP port).
After printing one "page" of labels, the printer stops and Alpha does not complain. It appears as though Alpha/Win98se sent only enough for one page then quit or sent the rest into limbo. I can print to the printer right away again so it does not lockup either the printer or Alpha4.
Any ideas?
