    Default Backslashes, Brackets, and Color

I put this here at the suggestion of others because it might be easier to find for new users.

Backslash, brackets, color, and other font improvements are all done with HTML tags. It is NOT necessary to click the "Use HTML" button when doing this UNLESS you use the HTML "break line" tag ("br>).

    To get backslashes:

Replace the single backslash character with \. Note that it starts with an ampersand and ends with a semi-colon. The result is: \

(For anyone interested, in order to get the "\" to display, I had to type it as "&amp#92;".)

    To get left bracket:

Replace the single left bracket character ( the 'less than' character, ") with &#lt;. Note that it starts with an ampersand and ends with a semi-colon. Although not considered 'correct', you can change only the left bracket then type the right bracket (>) normally.

    To get color:

You must use the HTML "font" tag: "font color="#0000cc"> will give you the blue color shown. Then use "/font> to turn off the color.

    EXAMPLE:
    Text typed as:
"font color="#0000cc">This text would end up blue when printed."/font>
    would display as:
This text would end up blue when printed.
(It didn't in the first line because I used special characters to make the command visible.)

Some more color options: Hint: Ever hear the term "RGB"?
    "font color="#000088">
    "font color="#0000ff">
    "font color="#006600">
    "font color="#00cc00">
    "font color="#660000">
    "font color="#cc0000">
    "font color="#dddd00">

    And, from Stan Mathews:
Try adding "18pt" (or maybe a smaller size) to the font tag like this:
    "font color="#0000cc" size="18pt">
    to get large print.

Default RE: Backslashes, Brackets, and Color

Sorry, I forgot this part of the board doesn't implement the "Use HTML" correctly. Hopefully this will work better.
