Default Alpha five V3/NT upgrades and questions

    Hello,

I just received an Alpha five V3/NT (as a gift from a family member, never opened) I'm on Windows XP installed 2004. First, is it safe to download this software into my computer since it's an older version? and secondly am I able to upgrade this software after I download it onto my computer?

    Thank you!
    Amy

Are you a new user of Alpha also, or it this another copy of software that you already use?

If you are a new user, you would be much better off to call Alpha on Monday and see what the upgrade costs are.

The new version is so much better...

I wouldn't recommend that you use anyone's software that has had so much done to it since version 3 was out.

    Welcome to the Alpha community.

    Hello Al,

I am a new user, this software was given to me. however it has never been used, it's un-open! I would never use a used software.

I will call them on Monday.

    Thank You,
    Amy

My questions were only meant to determine if you need to learn how to use the software or if you already know.

If you need to learn, you will find it much easier to learn the new version. It's progressed as all software has.

Your comments and questions never raised a doubt in my mind that your intentions were anything but honorable.

Do you know if I install this program if it will crash my computer? that was one thing I was worried about..

And I Thank you for responding to me, if you have any other suggestions, I gladly appreciate it:)

I wouldn't be concerned about trying version 3 with XP.

I think I use the XP properties and run it in Win98 compatability mode.

Here's an image of the properties where you can set the compatability mode.

Note that you get to this from a right click on the icon that starts the program.
