How do I get a distinct count on a report of a list of names that have dups in it?

You could use the Operations utility to "mark" the duplicate records. Then, print the report using a filter that selects "unmarked" records.

    George,

Extending on Gedi's idea, instead of running the query to limit the range of records displayed, you could create a calculated field in your report layout that uses the tablecount() method to generate the total unmarked records, and simply display it on the report.
