    Default Help using <tbl>.post()

    I now have my backup/restore logging working but I am stuck on the next bit.
    How do I now flag any records in the transaction table that do not post?
    Here is the code I am using for the restore:

    ''XBasic
    a_tbl = table.open("logfile")
    filename = ui_get_file("Open logging backup file to use in restore","Tables(*.DBF)","","X")
    transname = "@"+substr(filename,19,22)
    post.t_db = filename
    post.m_key = "UNIQUE"
    post.t_key = "UNIQUE"
    post.m_filter = ""
    post.t_filter = ""
    post.m_count = 3
    post.m_field1 = "WHEN"
    post.m_exp1 = transname-"->When"
    post.m_field2 = "WHERE"
    post.m_exp2 = transname-"->Where"
    post.m_field3 = "AS"
    post.m_exp3 = transname-"->As"
    post.t_count = 0
    a_tbl.post()
    ui_msg_box("Logging Restore","Restore Completed")
    end

    I forgot to add that I have tried this sofar:

    post.t_count = 1
    post.t_case = "No-Match"
    post.t_field1 = transname-"->As"
    post.t_exp1 = transname.mark_record()

    but to no avail

    Graham,

    I'm not sure you can do what you want, while using the built in high level post utility. Unless the post utility supports the marking or flagging of non-posted records itself, you'll probably have to script the whole thing from scratch. i.e. writing code to build a custom posting routine, which then can track and process any records which don't post.

    Thanks Tom, I do have a script that I can alter to do just that. Ta.
