Morning
I have an parts inventory table of about 35 items used to produce a single final product. Weekly counts are taken to try to keep all in line.
I would like to make a report that as well as a normal stock count will print the 4 item counts and names that have the lowest quantity for the last entered record. This will alert us as to what we are runing low on without analyzing each entry. Lead times are quite long on some items (14 weeks).
I searched the board and retrieved a minimum value per record post from July 1999 that explains a function to use:
Msg ID: 8783
Subject: Min(Sprint,AT&T,FrTel,Dtel,MCI)
Author: Gregory Hart
Date: 07-15-1999 16:35
File:
function MINLONG as N(FIELD1 as N, FIELD2 as N, FIELD3 as N, FIELD4 as N, FIELD5 as N)
'VALUE = min(min(min(min FIELD1,FIELD2),FIELD3),FIELD4),FIELD5)
'MINLONG = VALUE
MINLONG = min(min(min(min(FIELD1,FIELD2),FIELD3),FIELD4),FIELD5)
end function
But I need direction on how to display on a report the names and values of the 4 fields with the least item counts.
Do I have 4 functions - least1, least2, least3, least4 and use each preceeding function value as a field value in a similar to above function?
Plus I'm not sure how to get the field(item) name into this.
We could be using separately entered "mininimum to have on hand" values to compare to but don't want to.
Any suggestions welcome!
Thanks
Duane
