Default set report summary report non zero balances

anyway, to display a summary report in a set to display
    non zero balances only.

    bal_amount>0
in the filter of the detail section -
does not work nor shrink contents of band.

If you want zero amounts to be skipped, right-click on the field, click on Properties, Format, and select the one that will give you a blank when the value is zero.

Next, on the Setup tab (still in Properties), click on Allow Shrink. This will allow the field to shrink, so it won't cause a gap between two non-zero rows.

Note that you have to do this to each field.

    dear bill,
thanks - but that works for fields from the table in a report but for report calculated fields (calculated fields in the report itself & not in field rules) it does seem to not work..

or does it ?? but at least not in my reports.
    any other suggestion appreciated.

    rgds,
