Default DB Export options on current version 4.5

    Hi,

I'm currently using Alpha 5 v3 and have a situation which I'm trying to sort out. I have a single table database which I'm trying to export to MS Access (not permanently) and I'm having a problem with my text fields. Both platforms support large text fields, but there is no direct export function between them, and each intermediate format that I try seems to complicate things. I've tried exporting to Excel, which truncates the large text fields, as well as Lotus. the only formats which seems to keep the large text fields intact during the tranfer seem to be delimited txt and ascii table.. Those have their own set of complications however, in that most of my text fields have many delimiting characters and carraige returns in them, making the data corrupt during transfer.

I guess my intention is to upgrade to v4.5 if I can get word as to whether or not there is a possibility of successfully executing this transfer directly with new features, or at least with a new or updated intermediate format that I can export to from Alpha and subsequently import to my Access Database.

If anyone has any input or ideas as to how I can accomplish the tranfer with v4.5 or even my current v3, please let me know

    Thanks

Access can use A5's .dbf files directly. Have you tried that?
