I am a new user to alpha5. I need to have a button in my form that will export the current companyid and company name as a string to an ASCII file then if I do it again will
append to this file. I need to make sure there is not
dups.

The following script, attached to a button's onpush event, writes to a text file. It uses the ui_get_... functions to derive the data to be written. This data could just as easily be current record field contents.

The qualification you state about not wanting duplicates would require a little more coding to read from the existing file and compare to the current field values, but the basis is here.

For Stan. Don't know whether this is message board etiquette but seeing your reply might help me with my problem logged yesterday "Stock Movements" could you have a look at it for me. I need to keep a record prior to changing it but in another table.
