    Default statusbar.percent()

    When using a script with statusbar.percent() everything works great until you add some imbeded WHILE or FOR TO NEXTs. When the status.percent() is given instructions to display percent between the primary WHILE and END WHILE it flashes if there are imbeded WHILEs included in the primary WHILE. This does not happen when there is only a primary WHILE. I have the statusbar.clear() after the primary END WHILE so I know that is not causing the bar to flash on and off. The percent bar is displayed and is always correct, but looks faint because it is flashing. I think the bar display goes off every time an embeded event takes place. Anyone know how to force it to stay on?
    I'll wait a "WHILE" and see if anyone knows! I know, bad humor. Its been a long day?

    Jeff,

    Have you tried moving the satusbar.percent() command inside the deepest while loop?

    Stan,
    Wouldn't that give you a series of short statusbar bursts? Which would be really kind of wierd, I think.

    Peter,

    I haven't tried it, but I was trying to think through it. Always a stretch for me.

    If he's seeing a lot of flashing while the sub whiles execute, then maybe putting the command in the sub while would let the statusbar remain more stable.

    I suppose it would depend on the relative durations of the while loops.

    I hope someone tries this and lets us know. I don't really use the statusbar commands that oftern.

    Jeff, here's a 'WAG', how about adding ui_freeze() in the embedded while statements? (or will that cause the statusbar to freeze, too?)

    Stan, I tried but as Peter suggested I ended up with short burst disease!

    Tom, Interesting idea. I tried inserting the freeze here. This is the end of the script and on the primary WHILE. It caused the whole screen to flash. Looked like a vibrator!

    ui_freeze(.F.)
    iterations = iterations + 1
    statusbar.percent(iterations,numrecs)
    ui_freeze(.T.)
    t.fetch_next()

    I also tried a couple other combinations with no luck.

    I don't recall ever running into your problem but, for whatever it's worth, I quit using statusbar.percent() because my main purpose was just to let the user know that the system was still doing something and statusbar.robot() was much easier.
