Default Lost mailing label definitions file

My client has had A5 3.0 for quite some time, and the computer it is on has had all sorts of things happen to it. Somewhere along the way, it seems to have lost its label definition files, where you can pick from an assortment of predefined label sizes, Avery this, Avery that. I would appreciate if someone could point me in the write direction. I'm trying to convince the client to upgrade, but...

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Adrienne,

In a5v4 (probably also in a5v3), the label definitions are in A_SHARED.DBF. This should be in the same folder as the Alpha 5 program files.

If you have lost your copy of the file, I can e-mail a copy of the a5v4 file to you.

    Regards,
    Tony

    Tony,

Thanks for the speedy reply... This is the first time I've been over to see my client since you gave me the answer.

I found the a_shared.dbf file with the program file, and in the same directory where the database that I'm working on is. However, when I try to make a new label, the definitions are not there.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something wrong in the registry?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The client needs the data dictionary files and the index file that go with a_shared.dbf, too.

Take a look at the a_shared.* list in your folder. The client needs them all.

If it turns out they're all present, it's likely your client has somehow managed change the path settings that Alpha Five is using when it looks for these files. Check and adjust using the View | Settings | Directories menu.

Thank you, Tom. I'll tell my client to do that (no I'll do it!).

    Thanks again.
