Default Character field format for Time

Upon reading the article, "Time Tricks" on Dr. Wayne's site, O observed a sample table structure for formating a character field to be used for time, such as start_time. The format shown for the decimal places is a "." (No quotes). How does one format it this way since the choices are a number; 0,1,2,3, etc.?

    Thanks,

    kenn

    Ken:
I think that it is just how it printed on the screen.
These are character fields and as such the decimal place field is not available.
I keyed in the sample table and made the form , everything seems to work fine.
I think it is just the way it is displayed
    Good Luck

    Charlie,

Thanks for your reply. Do you know the secret of how and where the field is formated? So that, as the article states, "You can enter times as either 13:00 or 1:00 pm or even 1:00 p. Alpha Five doesn't care" ?

Formating via the field rules doesn't allow formating except a mask. Formating via the field's properties doesn't allow it either. Typing a p or pm with a field mask is to no avail as well.

    Thanks,

    ken

OK, for all who are wondering how to format a character field to allow various types of time entries, Barry Rochford supplied the answer. It's EASY!

It is formated in the field rules: 00:00 aa

I merely needed to add the aa.

    Thank you Barry!
