    Default query.filter()

    I have a button on a form that creates and dislays records by the user entering a customer name from a ui_get_text box.
    The query.fiter is "cust=name". Works great if the entered name is exact. Is there a correct syntax that the query filter would perform an smatch() or *any() function? Having the user type in the complete customer name correctly will be hit and miss. I have tried various filters to no avail.

    Thanks

    Default RE: query.filter()

    Playing with that more I figured it out. I created another variable that hold the character length of the user input text, then did
    query.filter="left(cust,length)=left(name,length)"

    Works like a charm.
