SBC/Yahoo - DSL Customers - Email problems
SBC has instituted a program of blocking port 25 access to mail servers other than their own. This blocking is done on a rolling basis and can be intermittent.
If you use SBC/Yahoo's SMTP server to send emails, you won't notice this.
If you have another SMTP server that you use via another ISP or your own, this stops emails from being sent from a client email process.
Since the port is blocked the email server is invisible. Usually you'll get a time out or not responding message, depending on your email client.
You can opt out of this by filling out a web form and requesting the 'opt out port 25' option via this web link. It's where you report email abuse - Kinda of funny they chose that link.......

After you opt out, you have to reconnect/login in again. Usually that means powering off you DSL modem for 15 seconds and then reconnecting.
I think this helps explain some of the inconsistent results that some people have had using A5's email client with a DSL connection.
For me, I had two DSL connections in different cities and had good luck with one and intermittent luck with the other. To the point that I couldn't send emails one time and 5 minutes later I could. Another 5 minutes later, I couldn't. Fortunately I have a good working relationship with my ISP and he was able to figure it out.
Works great now......
