Since I have not heard anything I am wondering if my last note ever got to you?? Hrtr is a copy
Continuing Formula problems
I believe I have not explained in enough detail the nature of my problem since all the replies I get work to a point but not completely. The following is, I hope, a fuller and understandable explanation of my difficulties.
In my form I have 9 fields
Fields 2 and 6 are character fields
Field 1 and 3 are numeric fields unrelated to any other field
Field 4 and 5 and 7 and 8 and 9 are all numeric fields and in different ways related to each other, as follows:
Field 4 is a master field into which a price is entered
Field 5 looks at Field 4 and either establishes a 50% or 30% figure
Field 6 is a character field limited to an instruction of T or L
When Field 6 is used with either the letters T or L then Field 4 should be returned to Zero and consequentially also Field 5
Field 7 when used will change Fields 8 and 9
Fields 8 and 9 are Total fields reflecting various calculations in fields 4 and 5 and 7
I am unable to make Field 6 work properly, ie return fields 4 and 5 to zero without removing their underlying formulas. Is this impossible, or perhaps, not within the capabilities of Alpha5. This is not a criticism of Alpha5 because there has to be a limit beyond which systems cannot go.
I am a beginner and have zero experience in writing a database but reasonably capable of following instructions if they are clearly given.
Hoping someone can help
