Floyd and I met with two other Alpha users on July 7th at the designated Village Inn. One of the new people used Alpha Four; Floyds area of expertise, and the other was more invested with Alpha Five, which is more my area.
Please understand that while both Floyd and myself have a great deal of experience with the Alpha products, currently the user group is comprised of interested and serious users, like the intrepid four of us who met last week; and who are interested in ultimately helping to form a more conventional and standardized user group format.
At the moment, were trying to get other users of Alpha Four and Alpha Five who have an interest in learning more about either or both products, sharing tips, tricks and insights with each other and, most important at this stage, participating in the creation of a solid user group from what is now only in its formative stages. And, while one day we all hope to have the kind of venue that anyone can come to and passively enjoy a well planned program; we are now at the point of getting a group of users together which can not only enjoy this in the future, but who are also willing to help make it happen, as well.
Our next meeting will again be at 10:00 AM, Saturday the 11th of August, at the village Inn, located in Tualatin at 72nd and SW Boones Ferry Rd located immediately west of I-5 at the Lake Oswego-Durham turn-off (Exit 290). We would love to have you come and participate in the Oregon Alpha User Group, as young and undeveloped as it is. In the meantime it will be a chance to make contact with other Alpha users as well as sharing information.
Regards,
Geoff Hollander
