Hi, just had to reload after a major virus problem, and this time, A5V4 won't let me delete the Arial font mis-mapped to BarUSPS.
Is there a fix for this?
Someone help me, please.
Thanks,
Cindy

Try to reboot and then without starting A5 go to fonts and try to delete. You might also want to turn off your antivirus software just in case it has placed some sort of lock on the files.
I wonder if the font file's attribute might have something to do with this.
Good luck,
Bill
Hi Cindy
Try the following:
1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
2. Double click on the Fonts folder. You will notice that the Arial
font is incorrectly mapped to another filename: Barusps.ttf.
It should be mapped to Arial.ttf.
3. Highlight the Arial font row and press the Delete key to delete it.
The Arial font should reappear in the window - this time mapped
correctly to Arial.ttf.
You should not restart your computer.
Note: The Barusps.ttf font is used by Alpha 5 to print Postnet Bar Codes on mailing labels. If you wish to use this font, then go to the Recycle Bin on the Windows desktop. Select the Barusps.ttf file and choose the restore command. This will correctly restore this font to the Fonts folder on your computer.
Hope this helps you out ...
Carol
you should also call alpha to get a new install cd that does does not have this problem.
This usually works for me,
Go to control Panel
Highlight the arial font/barups
drag it to desktop
Restart PC
Viola!
Are you using Windows ME?
I had a similar problem and it turns out to be a bug in ME. The FONTS folder is locked. If you have ME, try going to the control panel and opening the FONTS folder. OPen "FILE" on the menu bar - do you see an option to add a FONT?
If not, you will need to go to the RUN option under the start menu and type attrib +S C:windowsfonts. This then allowed me to delete the old arial font, and upon restart it worked fine.
