    Default Window Titles

I am planning to buy the Runtime for my Application.
Will I be able to change the name of the window titles?
Right now they say Alpha5 Order Entry etc.
Is there a way in the regular Alpha program?

    Jeff,

Yes, you can do it 2 ways.

The first is setting the title in your shortcut using the parameter -TITLE=

The second is using the Xbasic syntax in a script

    Hi
Is this the same principle for Runtime as well as for Full version ? I cant work out where to enter the script, I included in a form, syntax is ok, but the database still showing Alpha Five as a title, please see attachment and point me to the right direction. Thanks very much

As you probably know, the RT can only run what you have already created in the full version. If it works in the full ver, you can run it in the RT.

    Scott,

Was reviewing posts and saw the A5.Window_Title command. Works Great.

Are there an XBasic commands to

    1. To force the STATUS BAR to appear? I saw the command for the WINDOW BAR, a5_windowbar_show(), but nothing for the STATUS BAR.

    2. To Change the icon that displays on Alpha
    Five title bar.

    3. XBasic command to show a particular "Splash Screen." Since I am looking to place the XBasic code in the Autoexec script of an application, I realize this may be asking a lot since the Splash Screen loads as Alpha Five loads.

I know you can set the Icon that displays on the Main Alpha Five Window and can set the Splash Screen by adjusting the "Switches" in the Properties of the Desktop Icon, however, it would be so much cleaner to use an XBasic function in an autoexec script.

    Ron,

on your third question check the docs for command line options. By altering the statup command sequence for your shortcut you can alter the default startup behavior of your application.

I think autoexec runs after A5 loads, thus you can't control your startup splash from the autoexec. You have to use the startup shortcut to point to those basic load parameters.

    Ron (and others),

The startup command line options are listed and discussed in the Xbasic_Reference_Manual.pdf. Goto p 906.
