A5 v5
Evaluating A5, so I don't know much.
I created a table and attempted to merge to a Word doc using the handy dandy button. Mysteriously, all fields from the 40th onwards give me "Invalid Merge Field". The dialogue tells me said field name in the document does not appear in the source table, tho I know very well that it does. When I go hunting for said field using the drop down, I find that all fields from the 40th field forward have lost their names. Instead, they are called F40 F41 F42 etc. At least, they are in this dialogue. If I shut everything down and start again, there are the names sure enough, just as I left them.
If I clickettyclickclick real fast as soon as this dialogue pops up, I can proceed thru the dialogues which pop up for each field and finally pop up the Word doc. Each field from 1 thru 39 is completed correctly. The others, of course, have the "cannot find this field" business. But if I dawdle at all, I get the "Server Busy" signal, after which I have to ctl-alt-del out of A5. Either way, once I am done, Word hangs.
I have packed the table. I have duplicated the table. I have reconstructed the table. Have changed field structure to all character fields. No dice. I don't think it's the table. I think it's Word.
Have searched the archives. Found all sorts of unresolved issues with the server busy, but have found no mention of field names turning into field numbers.
Ain't life grand?
Any suggestions?
