    Default Timing Issue??

    I have a main "calling" database that opens "called" databases depending on the appropriate button being pushed. I have set up several functions so that the calling sequence is standardized. The calling database sets several addin variable space variables to be used in the "called" databases. For the most part, this works fine. In one instance, using the same set of functions, the main form in the "called" database does not "see" the variables. If I open the form to edit, then go back to view mode, the variables show on the screen. I have seen the variables using the debugger, but still, I get the message that the variables are non-existent:

    Warning [1]: Field object references a nonexistent field: VAR->agency.
    Warning [2]: Field object references a nonexistent field: VAR->whereto.

    The on_init script of my "called" form is the same as in other "called" databases.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Try xbasic_asynchronous()
    Shouldn't hurt anything

    Default RE: Timing Issue??

    I discovered the issue. Although I am declaring the variables and addin.variables in the xbasic code of the on_init and on_activate events, I forgot that I still had to declare the global and local variables in the variables tab during form design. Once I defined the variables, all went well.
