I'm trying to do what I thought would be a simple task but I'm lost. I'm new to A5 and hoping someone out there can help me get started.
I have a simple form based on one table. The table in question, Teams, has multiple fields. What I want the form to do is have 3 drop down fields that correspond to the first 3 fileds in the table. The bottom of the form is an embedded browse for the Team table. The hard part is that I want these 3 drop down fields to be filter / search criteria for the browse. The db itself is a bit large now for me to upload, but the form looks like this:
dropdown/search1 dropdown/search2 dropdown/search3
browse based on dropdown/search critera
(browse contains a subset of the columns in the table. e.g. some, but not all columns)
I tried using variables for the dropdown results, but could not get the browse to use the variables as a filter expression. I even did a query genie and built a query using the variable names but still could not figure out how to tie the browse results to the query / variables.
I know there must be some super simple thing I've missed, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what. I've been through the help, and through many topics on this forum. I guess I'm dense. Anyone got any pointers on where to get me started?
many thanks in advance
