Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

i will check the email receive, but script_schedule() is definitely not broken.

      for example, i tested this:

      script_schedule("say_hello",totime((toseconds(time()) + 65),2,0),2)

"say_hello" is a script that puts up a message box.
the above line of xbasic will cause the script to play 65 seconds from the time it is executed.

keep in mind that script_schedule()'s smallest increment is a minute. so if you schedule a script to play in the future inside the current minute, then it will not play because the scheduled execution time will have already passed.

No changes were made to the email_receive() or email_send() functions, but I will check to see if there is indeed a bug.

I too have a minor problem - that I suspect is related to my comupter only.

I downloaded the patch 3 times, to be sure it was not a bad download.

And I tried opening 3 different apps (Alpha Accounting, and 2 of mine,) in case there was a global variable in confilct with Alpha globals, and the symptoms were the same.

The form designated to open with the app appears not to open. The control panel shows instead, and the system fonts have been set back to default. If I show the window bar, the menu is open but not displayed. If I click on view-settings, I get a message saying there is an error running system fonts.

I just tried again, and Alpha Sports will open normally, but I still get the "system fonts" error, if I go to view-settings - so I suspect that "system fonts" is the key to it all. But it happenes with all the apps, so it must be in the A5V5 directory.

            Martin

I also get the error when I click on system fonts in settings, but don't get an error running any applications. However, I always use the default fonts. Interestingly, once the fault comes up, just opening settings causes the error message to appear.

A previous message string discussed a possible issue related to the form opening. In this build a form set to open on startup opens before the autoexec runs, which is different from previous builds. This may be causing a problem. Selwyn indicates the next build will go back to the original order.

              Thanks, Jerry.

that would explain it - 44 is working fine anyway, so for mine I'll just wait for the next build.
