Two Functions

Can two functions fetch through the same table at the same time? I have two functions, each function attached to a calculated field. The functions fetch through a queried table and return a value.

Each function works by itself. As soon as I include the second calculated field on the form, only one calculated field (function) works. The other field just returns a value of 0.

In the rt_eplan function, the value of vRoomType is being received, but it is not being received in the rt_price function. That means the calculated expression is sending it for one function and not the other.

The argument is hotinvt->RoomType in both cases, so it looks OK.

Both the variable and the table pointer are being passed to both functions successfully.

You might do a simple single form with 2 calculated expressions similar to these, just to test the passing of a table value. If this does not work, I would send it to Selwyn and it will be easier for him to look at the simplified example.

Here is a solution to your problem.

At the start of both functions put this:

dim recno as n
recno = t.recno()




at the end of both functions, put this:

t.fetch_goto(recno)

e.g.
the functions becomes:

You are passing in the record pointer that the form is based on an you are moving it in your calculation.

A5 does not expect that when it evaluates calc fields that the record pointer is going to be moved underneath it, as you are doing.
