    Default owner draw strings in text edit controls?

    hi,
    does anyone know if an owner draw string can be applied to a text edit control?
    e.g. this doesn't work for me:

    anyvar="{C=Red,White,Blue}{B=Bright Green,Yellow,Orange}"
    result = ui_dlg_box("Owner Draw in Edit Control",
    {endregion};
    %dlg%)

    i can get owner draw strings to work in list boxes and buttons, but not in text edit controls.

    keith,
    i'm trying to apply formatting commands to a text edit control in an xdialog. in the example, i want to change the default text and background colors in an edit control, using an owner-draw string.

    the answer -- from, i'm afraid, someone at alpha software who frequently monitors this board and is technically ineligible -- is that owner draw strings cannot be used on text edit controls, or any place, in fact, where the user directly types into a control.

    This is part of a long Xdialog which is will be used very frequently if I don’t set a filter to the inv_head table I t takes a long time to pop up (about 100,000 records now) and in must cases it is sufficient if only the recent invoices show up, but sometimes they need to select an earlier invoice. My question is, is there any way to refresh “check box –record list box” by the use of a button or any other way. I think that “Embedded Dialog Boxes” will work but is there a simpler way to accomplish this

    Format.even_selected_color="Dark Blue"

    Format.font_color_selected="White"
    Format.group_size=1
    Format.number_rows=.f.
    Format.alternating_bands=.t.

    'select invoice

    Yes, it is possible. It is quite easy, but you must have an understanding of
    Xdialog events in order to understand this. If you are not familiar with Xdialog
    events, you should refer to the "Learning Xdialog" book.
    The key to the script is to regenerate the list whenever the state changes.
    So we put the code that generates the list into a function (called
    get_data() ), and we call the function whenever the state changes.
    Paste this code into a new script in AlphaSports. You will see that it shows
    the customers for a selected state.
    Another thing worth noting is that we have defined a variable called "VL"
    which points to the local variable frame. ( local_variables() ). When we call
    the get_data() function, the only parameter that we pass in is the VL variable.
    This means that the function can see all of the variables defined in the script
    and that any variables defined in the function are visible outside the script.
    This saves us from having to pass in a list of parameters every time we call the
    function, and from having to have the function return a particular value.

    'Create an XDialog dialog
    box to prompt for parameters.

    note. when you copy the above code, the following code must be just one line.

    auto_list_customers = table.external_record_content_get("customer","alltrim(Customer_Id) + \"|{I:'a5_vertical_line'}\" + alltrim(lastname) + \"|{I:'a5_vertical_line'}\" + alltrim(firstname) + \"|{I:'a5_vertical_line'}\" + bill_state_region","Lastname","(Bill_state_region = " + quote(var->state)+")")
