Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    ALPHA 5 SOFTWARE

I being using alpha for 10 years and I always upgrade my software.
since I have a very old aplication I don't know if It's worth it to go to version 5.
I would like to try the knew version before buy. If it is not a full version product no matter but I will have a very good idea of the knew product. I have version 4.3 and I download version 4.5 (trial) and I didn't notice any change.

    RE: ALPHA 5 SOFTWARE

The newest version is version 5 and I know that as of now there is no trial version. It is well worth the price depending on what you are doing. There are so many more tools it's too much to tell you. If you go to products and then version 5 just look at all the new features, and that's just for starters!

I think I would be hard pressed to think of any other purchase that has as much value as Alpha 5 version 5. It is an absolutely awesome product. Period. And that would be enough to justify the price and then some. But, the amazing thing is the prompt, efficient, and courteous support that is available on this board pretty much 24/7. I am just amazed over and over again about the dedication that Alpha has to this product. If this was the way that all companies did business the world would be a much better place. My hat is off to Alpha software!!

Regarding 4.03 vs 4.5, the changes were on the inside mainly. The effect was much greater stability on a network with multiple users. It made a big difference to me. On the other hand, if you were just fooling around on a single machine by yourself, probably the changes was not so great. On the other hand the price was low, in fact zero if you moved to Version 5.

As for version 5, it is so radically improved as to be almost a new product.

              V5??????????????????????

My wife has to tell me to get off the computer and take a break!! There's no other software I use that keeps me "cuffed to the keyboard".

V5 comes with a 30 day 100% money back guarentee. Wait? For what? If a 30 day free* trial doesn't get the job done, nothing will!!

              kenn

              * If you don't like it, return it for all your money back less shipping and handling.
              TYVM :) kenn

Knowing what you can achieve will not become reality until you imagine and explore.
