    Default X-Dialog Oddity

    I have made an Xdialog as follows:
    Type: Date
    Width: 18
    Style:Calendar

    If the header text is left blank (which is what I want to do) I get the following error: "Text width not found" Apparently it wants a value here, but I don't. Is there a way to override this?

    HI Ken,
    Still doesn't work, If I press spacebar I get xdialog generator line 687 text_width not found.

    Thanks

    Russ,

    I used action scripting to set up an xdialog as you suggest and had no problem, except Alpha put Alpha Five in the title. So I converted the code to xbasic and edited the result. This is the code I got with no title and no prompt.

    IM SHARED temp as D
    DIM SHARED varC_result as C
    ok_button_label = "&OK"
    cancel_button_label = "&Cancel"
    varC_result = ui_dlg_box("",
    {endregion};
    %dlg%,

    Thaks Jerry,
    I think you're right I can do it this way, and probably will but I was hoping to avoid the code for the xdialog. Its a lot simpler to just let the genie do it.

    Thanks again

    Russ,

    The base code was generated by the genie. The genie did not give any error messages when I used it to make the basic xdialog box. All I did was remove the title text and the prompt text and fiddle with button sizes. The genies are very nice and save a lot of time since they can normally gereate most of the code and then the developer only has to do a little tweaking to customize.

    You're right, that's how I do most coding since if I had to do it myself it would take me about 1000 times as long. Actually without the genies and action scripting I'd probably give up. With the genies etc. I may eventially be able to do it directly efficiently.
