Default OfficeQ ActiveX DLL from Datablox?

Has anyone used the OfficeQ ActiveX DLL from Datablox .... Im trying to use it to extract quickbooks info into Alpha. If so, do you have any xbasic examples of how to use within Alpha5v6. Unfortunately, not alot of great documentation on the datablox side of things.

Any help would be much appreciated ....

Also, just as a note .... alot of positives to say about Alpha, but one thing that hasnt sat well with me is the way they just dropped qlinker. I bought qlinker with the intent to use once I learned alpha, and by the time I was ready to use qlinker(Alpha5v6), it was dropped .... kinda wasted my money here .... plus, there hasnt really been a good replacement for including in developed applications. Please dont respond here that QODBC is a good replacement ... its not.

    Thanks again!!

I use QODBC alot. Why do you think that it is not a good solution?

My issue is all the dancing you need to do to include QODBC in a packaged application. Alpha does a great job of integrating third party extensions into the package, but when it comes to quicken data(which they had covered with qlinker). Also, unless you buy the developer version ... isnt there always going to be a nice QODBC banner that pops up?

Maybe im missing something here, but all I want to do is seemlessly extract data from quicken into alpha. OfficeQ does this by reading the raw quickbook files without having to have quickbooks up and running.

Al, if you have any words of wisdom here, would be great to hear. I keep looking back at qodbc, I just think it should be easier.

    Thanks for any input ...

I don't remember Qlinker supporting Quicken.

Are you talking about the dialog box that comes up when using the free version of QODBC?

Contact the QODBC people - Mark Kuznar mark@flexquarters.com to discuss the licensing options and Quicken interface.
