Good morning!
I have done a several searches on this subject and have been unable to find exactly what I am looking for. So I thought I would present it as a question and hopefully open up a discussion to get as many different theories and explanations as possible.
The actually question is not "how" to actually point and click to set the sets up in the following scenario, but the logic and theory behind the what you link to what.
If you have the following databases:
cust= customer
sku = innventory sku's
invh= invoice header
invd= invoice detail records
poh = po header
pod = po detail records
If you wanted to created the ultimate application, what sets(as many as possible)would you create from this scenario? I know the obvious ones:
invh - invd 1 to many
poh - pod 1 to many
cust - invh 1 to many
would you :
poh - pod - sku
invh - invd - sku
sku - pod - poh
I understand linking poh to pod, would you also link that to sku? Would you also create another set for the :
sku - pod - poh
sku - invd - invh
poh - pod - sku
What does creating 2 sets:
poh - pod - sku
sku - pod - poh
do for look ups etc.
I am looking to create an application for a group of businesses and want to create a set structure that is as simple as possible, yet is as efficient and as powerful as possible. Any and all help is appreciated. As much explaination as possible, without writting an essay would be appreeciated as well.
Thanks,
Alan
