Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Anyone using Calendar and Toolbox

is anyone using the Alpha Five Calendar and Toolbox?

If so can you post some screen shots of some of the calendar looks so i can see what they look like.

Can you make a calendar that shows you a 12 month view like 12 little calendars at once that have red or something highlighting dates you have appointments set for.

Can you have the calendar show appointments for any day as a hour by hour layout so you can see the complete day but also see each hour blocked off for setting up new appointments with in the day. I guess this would be more like a grid view of the day and then week also.

Any other calendar optchions out i can look into or do any of you have a calendar set up like this you would want to give out or sell for a low price.

    Thanks

    Eddie,

For $19.95 how cheap do you want the calendar. The calendar will do most of what you want except display a whole year on one screen. The aapointments can be set to display in order for each day. Also the calendar can be set to link to a specific form, so you can see all the data for that record.

RE: Anyone using Calendar and Toolbox

I am looking at the $99 use as i need version not the $19 one.

I realy need a way to set up appointments for each day and be able to view a month at a time but i do need to be able to look at a year at a tima as well to see all bookings set up for the year. When someone calls i need to be able to check to see if that date is open with in the year and to give me a overview of dates booked for the year.
something like this i have included.

You could code your own annual month view in xbasic, irrespective of the add-in calendar. But it is a bit of work - and you would need to be comfortable w. xbsic.

I just started with Alpha Five a week ago so coding is not something i will be able to do any time soon.

I am still getting the hang of everything.

Sorry about that. The add-in calender is very good, but infortunately does not have a year view. Best of luck!

As far as I know, that is not possible.

RE: Anyone using Calendar and Toolbox

When in the Calendar month view can you go to any month of the year or are you locked into the current month.

I guess i should buy the $19 one and play around with it and upgrade it if i can make it do more things.
But i am far from being able to add extras to anything.

I just spent the last few hours adding many things to buttons just to see how they all work. I did learn a lot.

I added a go to another db button and a send a PDF file with preset text e-mail. I love that one i send PDF contracts all the time.
