I've ready many posts indicating that spaces in table names = trouble. I have a number of tables with spaces in the name and have been reluctant to change them, as it will involve a lot of work. Can anyone tell me what trouble having the spaces causes? Thanks.

This is one of those issues that doesn't cause an error frequently, so you might be safe.
Where you are likely to see a problem is when you reference a table name in a script. Alpha will try to replace the space with an underscore and, in doing so, will be unable to find the table.

"Where you are likely to see a problem is when you reference a table name in a script." -close but don't forget that many of the genies are written in xdialog and thus merely mask the fact that xbasic is being used, namely the action scripting and operations genies. This is why you can so frequently right click and "Show xbasic".
While you may think you are not using xbasic, I'll bet you are.
