Suddenly I've got a form in my database that is Crashing to the Desktop due to a unhandled Exception when I do a very simple thing.
I have attached the Database, and things will make more sense when it's been looked at.
I have a Database which keeps Tract of the timber that a company uses. Each Tract of Land gets a load of Timber cut and then delivered to one of their Mills. Each delivery is done through a Bill of Lading. And Each bill of lading has multiple logs of different species.
The problem that I have is when I select my Speices from the Add Cuttings button from the Enter BoL Form. Every single time I get a crash to the Desktop. This happens with the code commented out, and with it uncommented.
This only happens in the Developer Version. When I open the database in the Runtime version it works and does not crash. The code that I typed in works as well.
From the attached Database that I have included there are two ways to access the place where I have the problem.
When the database opens a form asks you to select a company. Double click on one of the options in the List. The Main Menu will then Open. You can either Click the "Enter Load Ticket" from the New Item Tab. Or Access the control Panel, and Double click the "Enter_BoL" Form
If you select the Enter a Load Ticket, then Fill in the following fields
Load Ticket No: With Any String
Tract, Vendor, Destination Select from the List.
Total Logs, and Total BF enter a Number
Cutting Date enter a Date, and click int he Delivery Date field.
If you access the Form through the control Panel, then this will open a valid Load Ticket already.
Next, Click the "Add Cutting to BoL" button in the bottom Left. This will bring up the Form that is causing a problem.
The "SpeciesID" field will be active. In the Developers Version, selecting anything from this field will crash Alpha 5, version 6. In the runtime version it works fine.
The SpeciesID is a Simple Table Lookup from the Species Table.
This worked fine for the last 2 months, and Is now crashing Alpha 5.
My question is why is it crashing Alpha5, and what can I do to stop it.
