OPEN TABLES

Hi all,

My problem is with a set, normal one to many link between two tables.

As soon as I finished entering a new record in the set, closed the form, and do a compact, the tables in the set are still open, or there is still a reference to the two tables. The only field rule is a validation to see if data entered in field1 does exist in another tbl.
If I take the field rule off, same error.

Now, If I run the same database in v5, nothing wrong!

Any ideas ?

Are you doing this by hand?

Have you automated it with a script?

Hello Tom,

Don't know exactly what you mean,

I 've entered the data by hand, if that is what you mean.
The set was created from the tables tab.

I will hoever use a script to enter some data later depending on some user choices. It will go into the child tbl.

Hi Walter,

When you are entering the data into a new record, after you get to the end, is it going back to the beginning allowing you to enter a new record? If so, this is where the table would still be open.

Just a thought.

Hi Walter,

I have created a backup database button on my main menu in the current application that I have been working on. One of the things this script does is close all the windows. The code closes the windows, ie forms, etc so I am not sure if this would help resolve your issue?
