That's correct, it will not run on Windows 98. It requires 2000, XP or 2003.

I just downloaded the trial version of A5V6 and it seems to run quite happily on my Win 98 machine. Any idea where the potential problems lie?

Beta testers reported a wide variety of problems including random crashes and an inability to even launch v6 and we were unable to pinpoint the causes. We cannot support v6 on 98 and will not be reposnible for any problems it may cause.

    Thanks, Lenny.
Looks like an OS upgrade is in the air then!

Note the experience from many other users. Do a clean install of a new OS rather than using the upgrade option.

More work initially, but there's no other chioce.

Thanks for the tip, Al. By "upgrade" I meant what you recommended - a clean install. I have had problems in the past with "upgrade" OS installations - they have never felt quite "right", so I always buy full OS versions rather than upgrades. A little more expensive in the short term but good long-term sense...

    Paul

You should be able to buy at the upgrade price, just choose the clean install option. (After the proper backup and such.) Bill's got enough money without giving him more than he wants.)

    Al,

This makes sense, since you are in fact "upgrading".
