    Default Problem searching the forums

Is anyone else having a problem searching these forums? Using the regular search or Advanced Search, if I type menu problem into the search box, I just get a blank page back. Address in browser is http://msgboard.alphasoftware.com/alphaforum/search.php.

    Happens in IE and Firefox.

Agreed, "Search this Thread" seems to be broken this evening.

Please try this agai and let me know if it is now working for you. I had no problem with that search term. It looks like previously there was an issue if the search was trying to return a very large number of results.

What exactly are you searching for and how are you doing it?

Can you try again? I made a quick change and I am not seeing the error here. Also if you still get the error, can you please turn off friendly errors in IE (http://support.alphasoftware.com/alp...t_Explorer.htm) and let me know the details of the error message?

    Thanks,
    Lenny

It appears to be a memory issue and I'm tweaking it as we go here and it looks like we're moving in the right direction. Thanks for helping me track this down.

    Default Search doesn't work yet

I searched on "Email" and got 20 pages of hits, few of which mentioned "Email".

Could you be expecting the search to yield only results pertinent to your search term?

I just tried the same search and every post I checked contained the word email somewhere. In some instances I had to search the thread itself, once I was viewing it, to see the reference.

Perhaps if you searched for email error or similar the results might be more directed.

    Default Problem searching the forums

Thanks, Stan, for your insight. Yes, I expected to be searching the titles, not the text. I did look into a few messages, but apparently I chose the exceptions.

Now I see that searching the text is a default, but the option to search titles only is an alternative.
