    Default Creating a filter

    Hello:

    I have a database with 5000 records. These are values recorded automatically every 3 minutes. I need to export only records that were recorded at the top and the bottom of the hour (ie. 1:00 or 1:30). Can I use the CONTAINS() function with a wildcard? What is the easiest way. I am really under the gun.

    Thank you,

    Greg

    What type of field stores the values? Character, time, shorttime?

    BTW 1:30 seems to be the middle of an hour, not the top or bottom.

    You'll get better answers but this should get you started.

    tm1 = "1:00"
    tm2 = "1:27"
    tm3 = "1:30"
    tm4 = "1:57"
    tm5 = "2:00"

    ? inlist(word(tm1,2,":"),"00","30")
    = .T.
    ? inlist(word(tm2,2,":"),"00","30")
    = .F.
    ? inlist(word(tm3,2,":"),"00","30")
    = .T.
    ? inlist(word(tm4,2,":"),"00","30")
    = .F.
    ? inlist(word(tm5,2,":"),"00","30")
    = .T.

    So inlist(word(fieldname,2,":"),"00","30") would work where fieldname is the name of the field storing the time character values.
