Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

I put the HTML contents in the HTML tab and put the images that are referred to in the HTML code specified in the options tab listed individually.

Did you specify the "Attachments Method" as "Embedded" on the options tab?

How are you referencing the images from within the HTML? Can you post a snippet? (tip: put it in [html][/html] tags on the message board)

Maybe you could tell me how to specify it so it displays properly and finds the files specified on the options tab......

There's not a lot to it:

            HTML Code:
            <img src="filename.jpg">

Where does it try to find the associated file? Also when specifying it on the options page do I have to make sure it is in the current directory? (otherwise it will put the whole path in there as well...)

The file is encoded into the HTML. When you specify it in the HTML tag, it should not include a path. The files can be wherever you would like them to go.

Ok, on the text added under the "HTML email" tab, I took out the pathing before the filename in all of the the "src" specifications, the pathing is automatically added in some software when HTML pages are saved by third party software. Secondly, on the options tab, when selecting attachment files names when I selected a file, I went back and eliminated the pathing from those files as well. A combination of these two things finally produced the result of an HTML email with embedded .jpg files. Thanks for your help!!! A few things you mentioned helped me to try it this way, which subsequently worked.

                      Re: Netmailer HTML embedded images

After hours of trial and error, I found this solution that works to embed images in an html email sent from a PC based install of NetMailerPro and AlphaFive v10 Developer.
                      • On the Options Tab, Attachments Method Choose Embedded
                      • On the Options Tab for the attachment file, provide the full path name to the attachment file (it is not embedded)
                      • On the HTML email page, after pasting html code, remove any &nbsp; code and any <BR> tags, as they may appear as ? in a mozilla view when an email client using rich text views the message; the html content appears as an attachment in this case.
                      • To embed images, their path must be fully qualified after inserting with the HTML editor. Do this when you return to the HTML email tab. Eg: C:\user\accountname\imagefolder\imagename.jpg
                      • When you return to the HTML email tab, after using the HTML editor, all the database links are corrupted, delete these and recreate them. eg. <<Artist_Name}>> with the Insert Mail Merge Field button.
                      • Curiously only one of the two images I was trying to embed worked at first. Then I noticed one was using
<P><IMG style="WIDTH: 1px; HEIGHT: 1px" src=""></P>. When I copied this to follow the other image too, it also appeared.
                      • I could not get .png, or .gif to work at all; had to be .jpg.
                      • I ended up placing my images direclty into the Default.WebProject folder for AlphaFive v10

I also could not install the NetMailerPro product on the AlphaFive Runtime version.

I hope this saves someone else hours of wasted time. I would not offer bulk emailing for my customers to create their own email campaigns using this implementation.

                        Hi Marcia,
I also could not install the NetMailerPro product on the AlphaFive Runtime version.
The reason being, there is a separate version for the Runtime.

Thanks for all your other tips about using HTML.
