I am having trouble defining a filter when defining a set link to a child table.
Using the Genie:
I first defined the link(one-to-many) with out the filter and it works fine when viewing the set form with and embedded browse of the child records.
In my case it involves inventory tansactions and I only want to see a certain type, as defined in one of the child fields. I then modify the set/table link adding this criteria in the child filter box & save. Now when I view/reopen the same form there are no records displayed in the embedded browse in the form.
Even more bothersome, when I go back and remove the filter expression and then view/reopen the form, I still get no records. To cure the problem I must delete the set and all forms and start all over. Fortunately, this is a new set and not one I already have as an active application.
So I thought, maybe somehow the relationship between the form/embedded browse and the "changed" set structure messed stuff up. So I delete the set and the form and start over and define the set structure initially including the filter expression. Same result.
At this point, I'm frustrated. So I decide to open v6 and try. Presto, it worked fine in v6 on the same extact tables, whether I set the filter up originally or modify it afterwards, absolutely worked as defined.
Maybe my installation of v7 is corrupt? I only have one copy of v7 so can not verify if this behavior on another machine.
Has anyone else observed this behavior?
Oddly enough, while I was typing this post I was logged out of the forum. Fortunately, I copied the text before clicking submit or I would have lossed it all. I have made a post in the forum support forum regarding this but it has not got a reply.
Thanks for any assistance or advice in advance.
