A couple of weird things

I am converting an app from A5v4.5 to v6 and noticed a couple of things.

1. My Main Menu hides the Control Panel but F5 shows it! I have not redefined the F5 key in an OnKey event. F5 works correctly with other forms. The Main Menu is always loaded but minimized most of the time.

2. The form menu shows up in Win3D and not white. This is true for system menus or my custom menu. Can it be changed? In other programs it is white. The drop down menu list appears correctly.

3. My exit script closes everything except the program - I put on the last line after closing the Main Menu :a5.close() - but the program doesn't budge.

4. Why aren't there lookups for the Help Chapter & Topic in the Form properties using the A5 custom help? I added field rules & made a form on the help table so I could enter all my Chapters, Topic & notes - it would be great if I could then just select them with a lookup.

Any ideas?

Robin, I'd need to see the database to try to answer your questions. In my own work I often leave the main menu visible, and display other forms on top, since I prefer to have the screen maximized the entire time. Are you pressing F5 while the Main Menu form is hidden? -- tom

Hi Tom,
I was playing with a checkbox example from AlphaSports to display a stand alone toolbar and would not have discovered this if I hadn't tried to refresh the screen. I never hide the Main Menu only minimize it. I changed the checkbox control to a hotspot instead. I suppose I could disable the F5 key for that form. Any ideas on why a5.close() isn't working? here is the exit button script:
