    Default Taking email data in a field and inserting it into email layout definition

    I am using an action script to make a button send an email report as a pdf. What expression should I put in the "send to" address to get it to use the data from the field that contains their email address?
    It seems like it should be simple but I'm drawing a blank.

    If it matters, the email (send to) address will vary from record to record, and it's a conditional action (based on "emailaddress<>""). It calls up Outlook and otherwise seems to be doing what I want.

    Thanks all,
    Bill

    Thanks Cheryl, but I found the answer on another thread (I did a search and actually found something ).

    I'm not an xbasic kinda guy (just looking at it gives me mini-strokes), but I gave it a shot this time and crossed my fingers. The key, in my case, was the a5_eval_expression and the person providing the code was kind enough to explain the process and show examples. Here is the code:

    Code:
    'Send a report, label, letter, form or browse layout as an attachment to an e-mail message. You can specify which records to send.

    record_number = current_record_number()
    query.filter = "recno() = " + record_number
    query.order = ""

    Dim message_type as c
    message_type = ""
    to_var = a5_eval_expression("=examiner_email")
    to_param = to_var
    cc_param = a5_eval_expression("")
    bcc_param = a5_eval_expression("")
    subject_param = a5_eval_expression("Exam order from Healthmasters")
    message_param = a5_eval_expression("")

    :Report.Send("Examiner Order","PDF",query.filter,query.order,"default",to_param,subject_param,message_param,cc_param,bcc_param)
    I'll take a closer look at your link when I have more time. I'll probably want to go the route of email templates, vice reports, at some point.
    Thanks again,
    Bill
