How can I insert a field from an other table on my form

Hi everyone,
can someone tell me how I can insert a field from an other table, for my form, it's only the fields from the same name table that shows up in the little menu box in the form edit mode or in what part of help file I should lookup.

oh and by the way is there such in in Alpha, when you are in data entry mode that when you type let say f it show up list with all the names that starts with f and when add a r to the f it show up all the names that starts with fr

sorry if I use simple language , I am new in using database

Hi Luc,

Create a set from your 2 tables, then base your form on the set instead of one of the tables. Fields from both tables will be available to you if you base your form on the set.

By the way, if your form is already created you don't need to re-create it. After you've created your set, just right click on the form and choose "copy to" from the drop-down, and then select your set from the list. Finally, go into design mode of your set-based form, the field you need will now be available to you to add.

To answer the second portion of your question; look into using the Progressive Lookup that is available. You can build it using Record-List Box or just use the function that has been made available for use. Check out the learning center at Alpha Software home page.
