Dear people
When a user enters data into a formfield and presses the tab-button to advance to the next field, sometimes the data dissapears. If so, he has to enter the data again and until he has done the same procedure 3 times, the data is saved.
This occurs not every time a user enters the data. So it is difficult to determine what the problem is. However, I found something that could be the problem. But as an ICT'er, we can't use the frase 'could be'. We have to be sure. So I was hoping someone with more AlphaFive exprience could help me out.
This is the situation...
There are three formfields:
1. Extra premie
2. Aantal premie
3. Soort risico
-The user clicks on the field 'extra premie' to enter the data.
-Then when he has done so, he pressed tab to advance to 'aantal premie'.
-There he enters data again, and presses tab again to advance to 'soort risico'
-It's here when the user claims to lose the data in the above two formfields.
However, in the field 'soort risico' there is an On-Departure Event. This event refreshes the layout (refresh_layout()). I am thinking this is the problem, for the Alpha Documentation says this function is the same as pressing F5. When I enter information in a field and immediately press F5 the information dissapears.
It's not exactly what the user explained to me, but users are not always clear about problems in applications. But another question is why this problem doesn't always pop up? I don't know either, but what I do know is that AlphaFive is not always clear either. So it could be a combination of Alpha's irregularity and a user's ignorance.
But maybe someone can add something to this conclusion?
