    Default #10 Envelopes

I'm going crazy. After three days using the envelope genie to
print a #10 envelope I still get UI "bad print layout(margin or paper size)'
I'm numb now and need "envelope printing for dummies"
Anybody out there for thei humongous task?
    Thanks, rich

some epson printers will print a #10 like a sheet of paper. Most won't.

Some others may be more help to you because I never used the genie. I make my envelopes on a report layout. Use landscape for printing and be sure to put a page break. The placement may vary a little from printer to printer, so some trial and error will be necessary.

    Dave,
Thanks, but I still can't get it.
Where do I specify page break?
    Where do I specify landscape?
Why do they continue to make simple projects into lunar launches?

Page break is in the toolbar like buttons. you place it below the address and anything else you have on the envelope at around 3.5 inches. You should be able to see the dashed line in the picture above.

landscape: at the top: report/properties/report properties/page

    That should solve it.

Start with a blank letter. See attached image for how to change page size, etc.

Big thanks to Dave M and Elke for the help. I,m an old goat who
goes back to the covered wagon days of datar processing. I started
in sales with NCR in the sixties. I have used Alpha 4 v1.0 thru v6 and
it seems to me a routine like printing an envelope shouldn't take
three dfays of trial and error. Thanks again. Rich L.

    Hey Rich,

I been fishing in your back yard. Loved it down there and only a 4 hour trip from here with the boat.

    Rich,

One of our sales people started with NCR in the sixties. He is 62 now(I think). I am sixty and started with a3 I think. That was a different world though.

I didn't discover alpha until 2004. I'm the same age as you folks and used to work for HP. If I would have discovered alpha earlier who knows I might have been a programmer.
