    Default Newbie question VBA - XBasic

    I am brand new to Xbasic and would like to know if anyone could assist me interpreting the following VBA code from an Access Combobox (AfterUpdate) event.

    Also, any advise where I can trim my learning curve will be appreciated.

    Thx,

    Larry

    If Not IsNull(Me.CboShipperName) Then
    Me.ShipCompanyName = Me.CboShipperName.Column(1)
    Me.ShipAddr1 = Me.CboShipperName.Column(2)
    Me.ShipAddr2 = Me.CboShipperName.Column(3)
    Me.ShipCity = Me.CboShipperName.Column(4)
    Me.ShipState = Me.CboShipperName.Column(5)
    Me.ShipZip = Me.CboShipperName.Column(6)
    Me.ShipPhone = Me.CboShipperName.Column(7)
    Me.ShipCtc = Me.CboShipperName.Column(8)
    Me.Email = Me.CboShipperName.Column(9)
    End If

    Me.CboShipperName = Null

    Code:
    Me.ShipCompanyName = Me.CboShipperName.Column(1)
    Me is the reference tot the active form.

    ShipCompanyName is a field on the form

    On the form is a combobox with 9 columns.

    Here the value from the active row, column 1 of an combobox is assigned to a field ShipCompanyName on the form.

    You asked "... if anyone could assist me interpreting the following VBA code ...".

    Aahhh, yes. But you should have interpreted his request as "translate the following VBA code" .:D

    A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine.

    My apologies if I was not clear... interpret into Xbasic is what I meant.

    Any ideas?

    Tim, :D Dutch humor!

    Lar,

    Alpha has some fine pdf and helpfiles as documentation. I suggest to start reading the basic and study the Alpha Sports database. There is also an good description/documentation of this database with name "AlphaSports Explained". Don't try to mimic Access constructions. Don't forget the site of Peter Wayne.
