Hi, can anyone help with this at all?
I have a grid for entering new orders that has fields that use the lookup grid rule, pointing to a separate lookup grid. The filter for this works fine as long as you don't try to either 1. clear search results, or 2. enter a blank search string and then submit the search.
On both occasions the grid filter resets and I can look at all the records in the lookup table (rather than the specific window, set up in the initial filter).
Is it supposed to behave like this, or is it a bug?
I am experimenting with the searchdatasubmitted variable in the beforesearch event of the lookup grid.
As long as I have specified individual search fields (rather than a joined search field), I can create a rule like this
Its very ineligant, but it at least stops you from getting lookup results that are supposed to be filtered out.
Also, is there a way of using a joined search field in the above code, I tried just referencing the field like this
But it failed

Code:
function BeforeSearch as v (SearchDataSubmitted as P, Args as p, PageVariables as p) with PageVariables if (searchdatasubmitted.upn = "") then searchdatasubmitted.upn="BLANK" end if if (searchdatasubmitted.stock_code = "") then searchdatasubmitted.stock_code="BLANK" end if if (searchdatasubmitted.prod_desc = "") then searchdatasubmitted.prod_desc="BLANK" end if end with end function
